Would you fill up a 16oz glass with 32 oz of water? No, because it would spill all over the place.

Guess what? That’s what we do with our day. We fill it up with so much more than what we know we can accomplish. That will zap your confidence.

When you say to yourself, I’m going to do these 10 things on my list today, but at the end of the day you only get to 2 of them because there just wasn’t enough time in the day. Then you feel bad about yourself or disappointed. That inner critic may start saying, “You just can’t do anything right, what’s wrong with you.”

Tony Robbins has a quote that says ”Most people overestimate what they can do in a year and they underestimate what they can do in two or three decades.” That makes a lot of sense to me because we think we’re going to get all this stuff accomplished in a day or week instead of setting ourselves up for the long term.

Setting yourself up to win is first about being realistic with your goals. Second, putting things in motion with structure and a plan. So hire a coach or have a friend hold you accountable. There are so many distractions around us that is helps to have someone there to help you stick with your goals.

So is there one thing in your life that you keep putting off? Write it down. Get someone to hold you accountable and make a plan to make it happen. What are the things you need to do each day to accomplish your goal? It may be to get to bed earlier or wake up earlier. Maybe you would like to meditate or exercise first thing in the morning. Maybe eating a healthy meal. What are all those little things you can do to set yourself up for success. By success I mean feeling good about who you are, feeling good about your goals and working towards them.

So go out there and set yourself up to WIN!

Love,
Sonia
